Mt. Yonah

Mt. Yonah

Mt. Yonah is a beautiful natural scenic wonder, located in the Chattahoochee National Forest between Cleveland and Helen in Northeastern Georgia.   To the Native Americans it was once a very spiritual and scared place and was used as a ceremonial site.  Even today some consider it to be a great point for generating tremendous psychic powers because of it's hidden underground springs.  There is a legend surrounding Mt. Yonah that a Cherokee Princess and a young Warrior once jumped off Mt. Yonah rather than be separated.  Today, it is considered to be an excellent place for climbers to practice.  Coming on Hwy. 75 north one cannot, but awe at this granite beauty.
